Editorial Policy

Tradeandtide publishes factual reference material and reporting on the global movement of capital, goods, currency and growth. The site will not publish content related to betting, personal financial advice, or speculative guidance presented as instruction. It will not feature invented quotes or statistics, nor will it publish details about individuals' private lives. Content is strictly separated into two categories. Reporting covers current events and analysis in the News section. Reference material, found in sections such as Institutions & debt or Concepts, provides established, contextual facts and is kept distinct from and not influenced by reporting.

All published information is sourced and verified. Where a claim cannot be substantiated from a primary or reputable secondary source, it is not published. If significant but unverified information is pertinent to a report, it may be noted as an unconfirmed claim with clear attribution to its origin, ensuring readers can distinguish between fact and allegation. The site does not present legal, health or financial advice as definitive instruction.

Images used are real photographs or accurate graphical representations. A photograph will carry its credit where one exists. Tradeandtide will never use software-generated images depicting a real person's face, upholding integrity in visual representation. Charts and data visualisations are clearly labelled with their sources.

The reference pages, such as those for an economy, institution or concept, are built as permanent, evolving resources. They are updated to reflect significant changes but are written to provide enduring context, avoiding transient details. This core material supports the reporting but maintains editorial independence from daily news cycles.

Readers with corrections, suggestions or queries regarding editorial content are invited to write to the editors. Correspondence should be directed to the contact address provided on the site. All substantive communication will receive a response.
